A Day in the Life: Part 1

For furniture manufacturers, High Point Furniture Market is one of the most important times of the year. Our whole year revolves around getting ready for market. It's an endless cycle that happens twice a year, but we love it! We are taking you on this journey with us as we prepare for market in October. Follow our, "A Day in the Life," series to see just what goes into making a market showroom!

Our market preparations start with Showtime, the fabric market where we view thousands of fabrics to consider for our line. Showtime takes place right in High Point, which is very convenient for us since we are only about an hour away.

We schedule as many appointments in as we can during our three day stay at Showtime. Most of our showings are thirty minutes, and we can have as many as 25 showings in one day. We see mills like Valdese Weavers, Robert Allen, Keystone Weaving, Dicey, and Sunbury. We see everything from new patterns, color ways, and color trends for each season. Here's a look at some of what we saw at the beginning of the month at Showtime...

During each fabric showing, we decide which patterns we'd like to see full color lines of to review for further consideration. Stay tuned for Part 2 of our "A Day in the Life" series to see how we narrow down the fabrics and group them for possible additions to our line!
